Are you looking to hit Tassie’s great trail walks this year? You’re keen but need a hand getting started?  Ascent Fitness’ Trail Adventures Walking Program is just what you need!

This Program is a graded series of walks that step up in length and intensity as your fitness increases.

The Summer Trail Adventures group walks are all located within the Greater Launceston area.  This makes for some superb Friday evening after-work walks! All sessions are from 6pm to 8pm on Friday evenings starting 28th Jan 2022.  There are 10 sessions with the last one on 1st April 2022.

On top of that, there are some fantastic public walking events that Trail Adventures can help you prepare for.  In addition to the group walking sessions, there will be self-directed sessions for you to do in your own time to help you get ready for some great events!


Who is leading this program?

John Ralph is the owner of Ascent Fitness and leads walking fitness programs in urban, trail and mountain environments. Whether getting ready for distance walking events, pacing out some trail running routes, or just enjoying walking outdoors more, John has had great success in encouraging walkers to become fitter for life, more skilled for staying safe in the outdoors and more confident in the next adventure of their own.

A few sessions will be led by the fabulous Emily Walker, fitness extraordinaire. You’ll be in for a treat with Trail Adventures Summer 2022!


What’s NOT in Trail Adventures?

We are walking in the outdoors, not getting ready for the special forces. While your walking fitness will be extended, there are no extreme activities such as rappelling or canyoning and no military-style exercises.

We will certainly take you to some amazing places to test your walking fitness out! With Trail Adventures you will enjoy getting fitter and trail ready right in your own backyard!

Key Dates

Each Friday from 28th January 2022 for 10 sessions.
Your last Friday evening Summer Trail Adventure is 1st April 2022.
Each session is from 6pm to 8pm.

All Summer Trail Adventure sessions are within the Greater Launceston area.

Please note: Trail Adventures includes extended periods of exercise and on uneven ground.  Please consult your GP if you are unsure as to your suitability for this exercise.

I’m in! What does it cost?

The full program fee is $675 payable with registration.

What happens after I’ve registered?

You will be added to a private Facebook Group which will help keep everyone informed.  Once that is set up, all notifications and updates will come to you directly.  If you don’t have a Facebook account, we will keep you up to date via text message to your phone.
