Point to Pinnacle is rated as the toughest Half Marathon in the World.  Starting at Wrest Point in Sandy Bay, and finishing at the top of kunanyi/Mt Wellington, the 21.2km course is all uphill and 1270m of elevation is gained!  This year, Point to Pinnacle is on Sunday,  20th November.

The 2022 Point to Pinnacle Prep Program includes 8, Saturday morning,  group sessions and multiple self-guided (“Homework”) sessions to complete in your own time between group sessions. The combination of group and solo sessions will help you prepare physically and mentally for this epic challenge.  If you can’t get to a session, John will help prepare a session for you to complete, wherever you are.  If you’re keen to get your hill climbing capabilities up, but won’t be going to the Point to Pinnacle, you are still very welcome to be part of the program!

If you’re new to this hill walking business and not sure if you’re ready to aim for the Point to Pinnacle in 2022, come to our free walk up Mt Arthur on September 6th!

 

Who is leading this program?

With all training in Launceston and surrounding areas, Ascent Fitness has trained over 70 walkers to complete the Point to Pinnacle inside the 4 hour 30 minute time limit. 

To date, every walker who completed the Ascent Fitness Point to Pinnacle Prep Program, and has attempted the P2P, has completed. 

Your trainer, John Ralph, has completed 10 P2Ps and 1 Virtual P2P with a personal best time on the official course inside the magical 3-hour mark. 

He really knows how to train for this event and how to help you get the best chance of making it to the top!

Each Saturday morning training starts at 7.30am.  Meeting points are outlined below.

Please note: Point to Pinnacle Prep Program includes extended periods of exercise and on uneven ground.  Please consult your GP if you are unsure as to your suitability for this exercise.

What happens after I’ve registered?

You will be added to a private Facebook Group which will help keep everyone informed.  Once that is set up, all notifications and updates will come to you directly.  If you don’t have a Facebook account, we will keep you up to date via text message to your phone.
