Return to Fitness

Monday Mornings 8am

When you are just getting back into fitness, a walking fitness program is a gentle, simple but very effective way to get yourself back into full swing. Each 60 minute session covers 3-4km and 120-150m of elevation.

Hills & Thrills

Tuesday Mornings 6am

Wednesday Evenings 6pm

Be prepared for brisk walking! This is your Advanced Walking Fitness Group. Each 60 minute session covers 4.5-5.5km and 220-260m of elevation.

If you’re not sure where your fitness levels are at, contact John from Ascent Fitness here and make a booking for a 1-on-1 walking fitness test.

A new start point in the greater Launceston area each session keeps things fresh and you will definitely find yourself in places you did not know existed. What a way to get to know your own back yard, while walking for fitness!

Who is leading this program?

John Ralph is the owner of Ascent Fitness and leads walking fitness programs in urban, trail and mountain environments.

Whether getting ready for distance walking events, pacing out some trail running routes, or just enjoying walking outdoors more, John has had great success in encouraging walkers to become fitter for life, more skilled for staying safe in the outdoors and more confident in the next adventure of their own.

John has also worked with a wide range of clients, from school mountain camps, walking groups for people living with physical and intellectual disability, people returning from significant illness and injury and elite mature-aged athletes.

To make it easier for everybody, Ascent Fitness walking groups are a separate program for each season with an up front payment.  Payment details for our Autumn programs are as follows:

Return to Fitness:

8am-9am on Mondays Starting 5th September
13 sessions in Spring $150 ($15 per session with 3 BONUS sessions)

Hills & Thrills: 2 options

6am-7am Tuesdays Starting 6th September
13 sessions in Spring $150 ($15 per session with 3 BONUS sessions)

6pm-7pm Wednesdays Starting 7th September
13 sessions in Spring $150 ($15 per session with 3 BONUS sessions)

What happens after I’ve registered?

You will receive a confirmation email which includes a link to request to be added to a private Facebook Group which will help keep everyone informed.  Once that is set up, all notifications and updates will come to you directly.  If you don’t have a Facebook account, we will keep you up to date via text message to your phone.
