Trail Adventures

Prepare for bigger things

For those taking their first steps off sealed streets and wanting to get to know Tassie’s beginner and medium-level walking opportunities, Trail Adventures is a great way to get ready!

Ascent Fitness runs two Trail adventures programs each year, one in Summer and one in Spring. Our Summer program runs on a Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm, where we take you on local trails in and around the city of Launceston. Our Spring program runs on a Saturday and can be quarter to half day walks, where we take you to trails in and around Greater Launceston.

Some of these adventures may require 1-2 hours return travel time, however, we guarantee, these adventures are worth it! Depending on the season, we might take you to sclerophyll forests, waterfalls, local
beaches, abandoned rail lines and more!

During Trail Adventures, there will be an opportunity to test out your emerging fitness at public events such as The Triple Top and the Point to Pinnacle. Our last session (weather dependent), where we celebrate how far your fitness has come, is one of the great walks in Tasmania – to Legges Tor at the summit of the Ben Lomond Plateau.

Apart from a unique landscape, it provides you with a taster for our next-level walking program which can take you to new heights – our Bushwalking and Mountaineering Training Program.

What to Expect

  • A great beginner’s program for exploring trail walking in Tasmania
  • Participants will be ready to participate (optional) in the Triple Top and/or Point to Pinnacle.
