CLIMB FOR A CAUSE

Each year, Ascent Fitness teams up with a registered charity to help raise funds to support their great works.

Previously, Climb for a Cause has supported the fantastic works of organisations such as Whitelion and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

To join in and donate is simple: come along for a great mountain day walk and donate whatever you can to the cause.  All proceeds go to the nominated charity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much time does it take?

The travel time and walking time for each Climb for a Cause will vary depending on which mountain walk is chosen. However, each walk is designed to be within reach of many and participants will drive from Launceston and return on the same day.

I had an injury, can I still join?

You certainly can. However, the day walk is in rough and remote territory. Further, the group moves at the speed of the slowest person.  Your injury should not limit your speed on mountaineering day walks. Advice from your GP or Physio is recommended. If you’re not sure where your fitness levels are at, contact John from Ascent Fitness here and make a booking for a 1-on-1 walking fitness test.

I am pregnant. Is this walk suitable for me?

Generally, walking is ok during pregnancy. However, we ask that you come with specific advice from your GP or Obstetrician on what is appropriate for you.
