Looking for a personal trainer near you? Ascent Fitness’ personal training sessions in Launceston are all about getting your feet moving outdoors.

Individual sessions can be tailored according to your fitness levels or physical limitations and adjusted for elevation, terrain, distance and difficulty.

If you are just starting out with exercise, returning to exercise or new to Launceston, we can start building your range of walking circuits from your own front door. Ascent Fitness has an extremely detailed knowledge of greater Launceston’s walking areas and can design a circuit that suits you.

How much time does it take?

60 minutes from start to finish. Longer sessions can be negotiated.

I had an injury, can I still join?

You certainly can! Any advice from your GP or Physio is always helpful. If you’re not sure where your fitness levels are at, contact John from Ascent Fitness here and make a booking for a 1-on-1 walking fitness test.

I am pregnant. Is this walk suitable for me?

Generally, walking is OK during pregnancy. However, we ask that you come with specific advice from your GP or Obstetrician on what is appropriate for you. Intensity levels and types of exercises can be tailored for you.

Following the Federal Government announcement this evening, limiting group sizes (outside of your household) to 2 persons, Ascent Fitness has suspended all group walking sessions until the restrictions are lifted.

Ascent Fitness can continue to offer personal training walking sessions and enquiries to that end are welcome.

When you head for the eastern side of the Launceston Urban Fringe Trail from Rocherlea to Ravenswood at 7am on a Sunday, social distancing is easy!

Our small group headed down the Rocherlea Old Rail Trail (the 'back track' if you're a Rocherlea local) and we got to see in full why one Launceston City Councillor described the LUFT as the 'warts and all tour of Launceston'!

There were some pretty bits and some not so great bits along the way, but the not so great bits can get better if more people use the LUFT.
